The 24 hour LIVE & interactive program utilizes AI technology, Police and district reports, court records, direct reporting & live team members who monitor the system 24 hours per day to track & report on local, state & national school threats, as well as provide a variety of support resources, including a LIVE national anonymous school threat reporting & student support network. Individuals can even track individual school threats and receive updates, within 15 minutes of their inquiries online or via telephone.
Officials noted that the innovative program serves as an intervention, supportive and educational tools for individuals, researchers & school communities.
Foundation, national director, Daniel Chapin, who recently joined Florida Sheriff Mike Chitwood, in a strong stance against individuals, including students themselves, who threaten schools noted, "We are encouraged by the data we have to present, illustrating across the nation an approximate 32% decline in school shooting threats across districts nationwide, since the original dramatic national increase in the days and weeks following the Apalachee High School shooting in Georgia." The foundation noted that it is sadly expected following a mass shooting to see an increase in school threats across the nation.
Data, released today, indicated that the most blatant, positive example of the now encouraging decrease in school threats, being in Volusia County, Florida, who, due primarily to their aggressive approach to curb school threats, has seen an over 75% decrease in overall school threats & related arrests, collectively.
"The database & resource center has allowed us not only to track and report on school threats nationwide, so as to obtain useful date, but helps advance student safety, by affording us more information to work with, as we seek to address & develop programming to more accurately address threats against students and classrooms across the nation."
The foundation noted that despite overall positive numbers, it is seeing an increase however in school threats in the nations more rural school communities with school threats affecting even sovereign Native American reservation schools, which traditionally has not been fully documented. Foundation officials say in the summary, that nationwide, it has currently tracked over 2,600 school threats since the Apalachee High School shooting in Georgia; with over 5 million students being affected. Over 95% of tracked & reported threats across the nation, were classified as "non credible."
