Nashville Metro Council Chair Of Public Health & Safety - Jeff Syracuse, Joins National NonProfit

The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, a national 501c3 nonprofit, headquartered in Texas; & dedicated, following the Uvalde, Texas mass shooting at Robb Elementary School; to ending school violence; announced in a national press statement Wednesday afternoon; that following an invitation by its national board of directors, it has appointed Nashville, Tennessee Metro Council, Chair Of Public Health & Safety & Current, "Council-at-Large candidate," Jeff Syracuse, to its National Advisory Board. Syracuse confirmed acceptance of the role, Wednesday, according to the release.


The nonprofit organizations founder, Daniel Chapin; responded to the appointment of Syracuse, stating, "Our efforts as a foundation to grow & effectively address the epidemic of violence, which continues to disrupt our students, schools & communities across the nation; is contingent on the guidance & efforts of individuals on our team, who show heart, empathy, level headedness and proven action to address this national issue head on!
The addition of Mr Syracuse; with his experience, heart & vision, only further advances the hope for not only our foundation's successful work but for the students & communities, locally and nationally that his role affords both with our foundation nationally and ongoing with the City of Nashville, Tennessee."

The foundation further noted in its release, that Syracuse was instrumental in spearheading recent, local Nashville efforts to address Nashville gun violence in schools, following the Covenant School Shooting; recently completing an extended conference on school safety & gun violence in a Nashville centered series In June 2023.
