The Uvalde Foundation For Kids has selected Chester Township, Ohio Police Chief, Craig Young, to present, on the foundation's behalf, its 2023 NATIONAL STUDENT HERO AWARD to West Geauga High School student, Casey Orloski.

Chief Young confirmed this week his role in presenting the prestigious honor to the young man on the foundation's behalf; in an email to foundation officials stating simply, "I would be honored to present this award. Thank you for all you do."
The student was credited recently by the national nonprofit for, "Heroic Action Resulting In The Preservation Of Untold Student Lives," after the senior reported finding a bullet in the bathroom of the school, resulting in the arrest of a student who later admitted having plans to shoot students at the Ohio high school.

The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, headquartered in Texas, with national work focused on preventing school violence; stated in its announcement that it selected Chief Young to present this honor to the student; as the highest ranking law enforcement officer overseeing the recent case & one most familiar with the students role.

The Foundation noted that the date for the official award presentation will be determined by Chief Youngs Office.
