Statement From The Uvalde Foundation For Kids Following The Video Footage Showing Altercation Between A Uvalde Mother, Gun Control Advocates & Texas DPS

"As Our Nation Is Seeking An End To The Disruptions In Our Classrooms & The Violence Taking Our Youth Out Of Those Once Safe Havens - We Work To End Violence In ALL FORMS In Our Schools. We Must Also Continue, In Those Efforts, To Evaluate Our Own Actions; Including Protests; So As To Ensure That We Ourselves Are Not Contributing To The Chaos & A Culture Of Violence.
Likewise, The Uvalde Foundation For Kids Believes It Pertinent That We Do Not End Up Prooving Ourselves Examples Of The Very Thing We Are Working & Protesting Against. There Are Several Factors The Foundation Is Concerned On In This Incident; As To The Behavior Of All Parties - Including The Physical Handling Of The Mother By The DPS, How Easily The School Was Accessible & Opened By A Student For Entry & The Complete Communication Breakdown.
The Original Purpose Here In Promoting Safety & Peace In Our Schools, Increasing Community Trust, Serving As Examples To Our Students & Effective Protest Advocating Change - Was Defeated.. In This Incident, Everyone Lost. Everyone Failed."
