Students at the University of Georgia produced the documentary titled “We Will Rise: The Story of the Apalachee High School Shooting” as part of their capstone class at UGA’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication
"This production, a moving, palpable illustration of a new generation of students and youth - born out of tragedy, yet destined for great things - serves as a daunting reminder to a national community that the epidemic of school violence, illuminates the growing culture of violence in this country, really since Columbine HS, which will only be ended by grassroots action, creativity & determination to be voices for peace, by its most vulnerable of citizens - its youth across our nation's campuses.

National student advocacy and violence prevention nonprofit, the One In Five Foundation For Kids, formerly named, the Uvalde Foundation For Kids; formed in response to the May 2022 Mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas - Announced in a press release out of Bell County, Texas, that it is recognizing several University of Georgia students for a recent documentary on the tragic Apalachee School shooting.
Officials noted in the release that the foundation is also extending an offer to help fund & launch a national campaign to bring the powerful production based on the recent tragic Apalachee HS Shooting, to stages across Georgia schools and communities nationwide.

The foundation, who offers a nationwide performing arts outreach, utilizing performing arts to address and highlight school violence, just completed a award winning production of 04-20-99: A Story Of Columbine at the Eccles Theater In Salt Lake City - noted that it hopes to bring the production as a powerful tool to campuses across the nationwide as a part of its ongoing campaign to address violence through its multi tiered approach. The foundation is set to launch the national campaign and funding for the production immediately.
